Avery Gipson

Avery Gipson is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Atlanta, GA, where she attends The Lovett School. 3 weeks after turning 15 years old, Avery performed her first ever open mic at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, and “won,” securing a spot in their Open-Mic Shoot-out. This past June, she was honored to play in her first show, opening for Jacob Harshman at Red Clay Music Foundry. In November, she performed in both the Open-Mic Shootout at Eddie’s Attic and at Eddie Owen Presents at Red Clay. In both, she advanced to the quarterfinals, losing out to the eventual winner. Also, in November, Avery was named a 2017 National YoungArts Foundation Merit Winner for Vocal-Singer/Songwriter. Avery sings in both her church and school choirs and has been writing songs since she was 9 years old. Inspired by such artists as Sara Bareilles and Ed Sheeran, Avery is focused on developing her own unique sound and continuing to write strong songs that deeply affect the listener. Currently, she is working towards her first album and will next be appearing at His Rock in Cumming, GA, on January 28.
